The Art of Mexican Cooking

This was a commission for Gravy Spring 24. The piece, written by  food author and chef Adán Medrano is about all the meanings that food has in our lives, not only as a mere survival skill but as Art, food as memory, food as identity and as community.
The concept chosen talks about roots, identity, ingredients and art.
the other part of the project was to come up with half page illustrations for each segment of the piece: Food as memory, food as identity and food as community.
This is the cover for the Spring 24 issue that I designed as well - you can see the creative process here.
Thanks for watching! hope you enjoyed it.
